BEVILACQUA Carlos
BIBLIOGRAPHY ARTWORKS
Carlos Bevilacqua (Brazilian, born 1965), delicate, abstract sculptures and assemblages, many of which suggest constellations or molecular structures, are composed of modest materials including wire, metal springs, glass vessels, and spherical or circular wooden elements. In 2007 he collaborated with the renowned artist Ernesto Neto to create O Abraço do Tempo … Jazz (Time’s Embrace … Jazz), a series of small-scale sculptures resembling semi-defunct mechanisms, which synthesized Neto’s colorful, voluminous lycra forms with Bevilacqua’s graceful, fragile constructions.
